8 Hours Hazwoper Ongoing Refresher Training
  • The 8 -Hour HAZWOPER Training provides workers and first responders with basic knowledge of hazardous substances, emergency response principles, and worker protection strategies.
  • This short-duration training is designed for individuals who may be present at a hazardous waste site or encounter accidental chemical releases but whose role does not involve direct and prolonged exposure.
  • Developed under OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 and guided by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards for emergency response, this course equips learners with the ability to recognise hazards, understand proper protective equipment, and respond appropriately to small-scale or initial emergencies.
  • The 8 -hour program introduces participants to Regulatory Background:
  • Overview of OSHA HAZWOPER Standard and EPA emergency response requirements.
  • Hazard Recognition: Identifying chemical, biological, radiological, and physical hazards at worksites.
  • Toxicology Basics: How hazardous substances affect the human body.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Proper selection, use, and limitations.
  • Decontamination Awareness: Steps for reducing contamination risks.
  • Emergency Procedures: Basic spill response, evacuation, and incident command system (ICS) awareness.
